Wanekreek nature reserve

The Wanekreek nature reserve is located in Suriname , in the Marowijne district , from the Maroni in an easterly direction along the Wanebach.

The reserve was founded in 1986 and covers an area of around 450 km² . This protected area contains the only white-humid savannas of the Watamaleo type and wet clay soils of the Wanekreek type that occur in Suriname .
