Wang Jian's grave
The grave of Wang Jian ( Chinese 王建 墓 , Pinyin Wáng Jiàn mù or 前蜀 王建 墓 , Qián Shǔ Wáng Jiàn mù ; English Tomb of Wang Jian ), the ruler of the Former Shu Empire ( Qian Shu ) in the time of the five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms on the western outskirts of Chengdu , Sichuan Province , China were excavated in 1943.
It was built from large blocks of stone and contained a statue of Wang Jian , figures of warriors and musicians, and other grave objects, including a jade belt and the text of a funeral speech.
The tomb has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 1961 .
