Wang Xiaodong (politician, 1960)

Wang Xiaodong (Chinese: 王晓东; born January 1960 in Xinfeng , Jiangxi Province ) is a Chinese politician and current governor of Hubei Province . A native of Jiangxi Province, Wang spent his early career in his home province and in Guizhou . He was transferred to Hubei in 2011.

Life

Wang was born in Xinfeng District, Jiangxi Province. Wang joined the Chinese Communist Party in January 1983. He graduated from Jiangxi University in Marxist philosophy. He then started working in agriculture in Jiangxi Province. He later worked as a party official in the general office of the Jiangxi Party Committee, the Jiangxi Commission for Social Affairs and Education, the Provincial Policy Research Office, and as the director of the Party Office in Guizhou. In December 2000, he became a member of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Party Committee, and in May 2007, he became the deputy governor of Guizhou.

In December 2011, he became a member of the Hubei Standing Party Committee and was later appointed Deputy Governor of Hubei. In April 2016, he was appointed Deputy Party Leader in Hubei. He became governor of the province in September 2016.
