Tub (unit)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tub was an old measure of volume in the Kingdom of Württemberg . It was considered a measure of hay.

Its dimensions were a cube of 8 feet each  in its dimensions and had been established by law in 1806. Under this condition, 1 tub = 512  cubic feet (Württemberg) = 1100 pounds.

There were half tubs (256 cubic feet) and quarter tubs (128 cubic feet). Accordingly, the cube was only four or two feet high (while maintaining the base area).

  • 1 tub of hay = 12.039257 cubic meters
