Coordinates: 31 ° 45 ′  S , 115 ° 48 ′  E The City of Wanneroo is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . Wanneroo belongs to the metropolis of Perth , the capital of Western Australia. The area is 686 km² and has about 190,000 inhabitants (2016).

Wanneroo forms the northwestern tip of Perth along the coast and is about ten to 35 kilometers from the city center. The seat of the City Council is in the district of Wanneroo, in which around 12,000 inhabitants live (2016).

The Wanneroo Council has 15 members, 14 Councilors are elected by the residents of the four Wards (five from the South, four from the Coastal, three from the Central and two from the North Ward). The mayor (mayor) and council chairman is also elected by all residents of the city.
