Temple of Long Life
The Wanshou Temple ( 萬壽寺 / 万寿寺 , Wanshou sì ) or wanshou temple or Temple of Longevity is a Buddhist temple in Suzhou Street road district Zizhuyuan in Beijing Municipality Haidian . It was built in 1577 in the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty for the storage of Chinese Buddhist scriptures. Today it houses the Beijing Art Museum ( Beijing yishu bowuguan ), which opened in 1985 . The temple has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-307) since 2006 .
