history

When designing the coats of arms, the congregation resorted to the coat of arms of the local pastor Matthias Biringer, who was pastor at the Gervasius Church in Perl from 1680 . In doing so, she paid tribute to his work in rebuilding the villages of Perl , Oberperl and Sehndorf after their destruction in the Thirty Years' War .

The Saarland Ministry of the Interior granted the approval to use the coat of arms with a resolution of July 5, 1957. The resolution also granted the municipality the right to use the colors blue and yellow as the municipality's colors.

With the incorporation of Oberperl into Perl on January 1, 1974, the coat of arms lost its official validity.
