Location of Sehndorf in Saarland |
Sehndorf is a part of the municipality of Perl in the Merzig-Wadern district ( Saarland ). Until the end of 1973 Sehndorf was an independent municipality.
The first documentary mention took place in 1129 on the occasion of a transfer of a winery by the Archbishop Meginher von Trier.
The historic wash house from the 19th century and the town center with old farms and winegrowers are well worth seeing.
Sehndorf has won prizes in the competition Our village should become more beautiful (federal level: silver, state level: gold). There is also a wine-growing area here.
As part of the regional and administrative reform in the Saarland , the previously independent municipality of Sehndorf was assigned to the new municipality of Perl on January 1, 1974, together with 13 other municipalities .
