Tettingen-Butzdorf is a part of the municipality of Perl in the Merzig-Wadern district ( Saarland ). Together with the district of Wochern , it forms a municipality within the municipality of Perls. The double place was created by the increasingly connecting settlement of the two places Tettingen and Butzdorf. Tettingen-Butzdorf was an independent municipality until the end of 1973.
history
The names of the two places Tettingen and Butzdorf suggest a settlement during the Franconian conquest , as the suffixes of the place names -ingen and -dorf point to Franconian-Merovingian settlement names . Tettingen is first mentioned in a document between 1307 and 1354 in the Taxa generalis of the Archdiocese of Trier . Butzdorf, on the other hand, was first mentioned in the land register of St. Maximin Abbey in 1371.
As part of the former German West Wall , Tettingen-Butzdorf is home to the so-called Höckerlinie , a line of anti-tank barriers. The line runs through or near the towns of Oberleuken , Borg and Nennig .
The Church of St. Remigius was built in 1851.
As part of the Saarland regional and administrative reform , the previously independent municipality of Tettingen-Butzdorf was assigned to the new municipality of Perl on January 1, 1974, together with 13 other municipalities .
