Ruda Śląska coat of arms
The coat of arms of the city of Ruda Śląska (German Ruda OS) consists of two fields created by division. It was introduced at the end of the 1990s and is based on the old coat of arms of the place Friedenshütte (Nowy Bytom).
Current coat of arms
The coat of arms, introduced in 1998, is based on the coat of arms of Nowy Bytom and shows a half, golden eagle at the front in blue (the eagle of the Upper Silesian Piasts) and a portrait of Saint Barbara at the back .
Nowy Bytom coat of arms (Peace Hut)
The pouched coat of arms of Nowy Bytom shows next to the image of Saint Barbara and the Upper Silesian eagle in the lower third a cogwheel. Above is a tinned wall crown with three towers, each with a key notch in the middle .
Coat of arms from 1966
The coat of arms from 1966 showed the Polish eagle in the front, in the back in the upper 2/3 a black winding tower in front of a blue field and in the lower third the colors green, black and orange. The coat of arms was adopted by the Municipal National Council on September 17, 1966. On the one hand it was supposed to represent the affiliation to Poland, on the other hand the winding tower symbolized the mining industry, which is important in the area. The coat of arms was in many ways not heraldically correct and changed its colors regularly in the years that followed.
