The Stockton Township is one of 23 townships in Jo Daviess County in the northwest of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois .

Stockton Township is located in northwest Illinois and is traversed by the Apple River in the west . The border with Iowa , which is formed by the Mississippi , is about 25 miles west. The Wisconsin border is about 20 to the north.

At the 2010 census , the township had 2,453 inhabitants. In addition to scattered settlements, by far the largest part of the population lives in Stockton , the (with the status " Village ") the only independent community within the township.
