The Apple River Township is one of 23 townships in Jo Daviess County in the extreme northwest of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois .

The Apple River Township is located in northwest Illinois and the Apple River flows through it. The township borders Lafayette County in Wisconsin to the north . The Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa , is around 40 km to the west.

The Apple River Township is bordered by Warren Township to the east, Rush Township to the southeast, Thompson Township to the south and Scales Mound Township to the west .
