Was Plan Black

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

War Plan Black (one of the US color-coded war plans) was the name of an American military plan to combat Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. The most famous version was intended as an emergency plan during the First World War in case France fell and the Germans tried to conquer French possessions in the Caribbean or to launch an attack on the east coast . The United States should lay mines and patrol submarines in places where Germany could gain a foothold in the Caribbean. The plan was revised in 1916 to concentrate the main fleet of the US Navy in New England and from there to defend the US from the German Navy . After the defeat of Germany, the plan became less important.
