Warrap ( Arabic واراب Wārāb , alternative spelling Warap ) has been the capital of the newly founded state of Tonj in South Sudan since 2015.

location

The city is located in the north of South Sudan, around 1000 km southwest of Khartoum . The town of Bi'r Qurud joins Warab directly along the road to the northwest. About 15 km south is the Maleit lake .

population

Due to the civil war in South Sudan and the resulting influx of refugees, no population figures are available for Warrap.

Infrastructure

Warrap's infrastructure was badly affected by the civil war in South Sudan, which ended in 2005.
