Warren Miller (Director)

Warren Miller (born October 15, 1924 in Hollywood , California - † January 24, 2018 in Orcas Island , Washington ) was an American producer of ski and snowboard films.

Life

As a young man, his hobbies included skiing, surfing and photography. After his military service in World War II , he bought his first film camera and started working as a ski instructor in various ski resorts in the USA. The combination of his interests led to the fact that he has made more than 750 ski films to date.

Until shortly before his death, he produced a film every year that goes on a world tour at the beginning of winter in the following countries: USA, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In addition to the film, the film shows often have a supporting program with raffles and surprises. Some of the star athletes from the Warren Miller films are live at the events on site.
