Wash house (Tournan-en-Brie)
The wash house (French lavoir ) in Tournan-en-Brie , a French commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region , was built in 1783.
The washhouse made of quarry stone masonry on Rue Marcel-Micheau is in the former moat of the local fortification. It was built at the instigation of Louis Jean Marie de Bourbon , Duke of Penthièvre.
A six-step stone staircase leads from the street to the wash house. The fountain that feeds the water basin is hidden behind the stone arch.
