Wash house in Maincy

The wash house (French lavoir ) in Maincy , a French commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region , was built in 1853.

The washhouse made of quarry stone masonry on Place Aristide-Briand is covered on all four sides by pent roofs. The washerwomen knelt at the edge of the pool to wash the laundry along the elongated water basin.

The building has been renovated in recent years.
