The Washington County Courthouse in Washington , the Justice and Administration Building ( Courthouse ) of Washington County in the southeast of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .
The current building is Washington County's third courthouse. The first courthouse also served as a school and religious community center. In 1847 a new courthouse-only building was constructed.
In 1887, the current building was built in the neo-Romanesque style based on a design by the architects Foster & Liebbe . A clock tower with a bronze bell stands on the southwest corner of the brick building.
In 1981 the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places with reference number 81000273 .
