Grüningen moated castle

The moated castle Grüningen , also called Burg Gröningen , is an abandoned tower hill castle (Motte) in the former garden south of the Upper Castle in the Riedling district of Grüningen in the Baden-Württemberg district of Biberach .

Presumably, the moated castle was built by the noble lords of Grüningen, it was located on a round, artificially raised hill with a surrounding moat . Around 1780 there was still an octagonal pleasure house on this hill . Nothing has been preserved from the former castle complex.
