The Antelomita hydropower plant (in French, Centrale Hydroelectrique d'Antelomita I + II , Malagasy Barazy Antelomita ) is located near Antelomita in the Analamanga region of Madagascar . The power plant consists of two parts: Antelomita I and II. The two are in close proximity to each other at two different waterfalls of the Ikopa . The waterfalls are dammed and supply the energy for three generators each with an output of 1.4 MW .
The power plant was built in three stages: 1930, 1952 and 1953. The two power plants together have an output of 8.4 MW. They were built by a French company, but are now owned by the state energy company Jirama . Two dams were built further upstream to regulate the inflow: the Tsiazompaniry Dam and the Mantasoa Dam . In 2014 the plant was renewed with the help of a loan from the World Bank .
