Architecture and history
The historic water tower was built in 1885 and was part of the railway repair shop . It served to supply the repair shop with water.
The approximately 20 meter high water tower was made of dark bricks and natural stone and is unplastered. In the top of the tower there are two semicircular flat bottom tanks with a capacity of 75 cubic meters each. The water reservoir protruding over the polygonal brick stump is surrounded by a wooden structure that supports the roof.
The water tower, which is a listed building according to the Hessian Monument Protection Act, illustrates the traffic development and development of the state.
