Buchhorn water tower
The Buchhorner water tower , northeast of the Buchhorner See , is the Buchhorn landmark. The municipality of Pfedelbach built the 38.5 m high water tower in 1965. The storage volume is 200 m³. The Buchhorn water tower made the water supply for Buchhorn and Heuberg more reliable. But it was not until the first section of the new construction of the water supply in 1994 that the water supply improved significantly. Again and again there had been supply problems, especially in Buchhorn and in the high altitudes of Gleichen. The springs and the deep well in Gleichen can now be used in full and their entire fill can be mixed with external water in the new elevated tank Gleichen. If springs fail, water can be pumped to the Gleichen reservoir and the water tower in Buchhorn via a ring main. In 2007 the water tower was extensively renovated.
