Albert Baur (engineer)

Albert Baur (born July 11, 1920 in Zöschlingsweiler ; † April 13, 2012 ) was a German engineer and specialist book author.

Career

His family moved to Stuttgart in 1925 , where he graduated from the Dillmann Realgymnasium in 1939 . From April 1939 Reich labor service, military service and imprisonment followed. From 1946 he studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Stuttgart . He completed his studies in 1949 with his diploma thesis on the subject of "Energy studies and a preliminary draft for a summary of the fallow hydropower of the Blacks and Mettma as well as those of the Upper Alb and all other economic lines" . Professional positions in business and administration followed. In 1959 Baur moved to the engineering company Vedewa in Stuttgart, of which he later became the association building director. In this role he is responsible for building many water towers. Baur wrote specialist books on fountains, water features and water towers as well as articles on the history of water supply.
