Wassilka Stoewa

Wassilka Stoewa ( Bulgarian Василка Стоева ; born January 14, 1940 in Kotel ) is a former Bulgarian discus thrower .

Stoewa was a total of six times Bulgarian champion in discus throw (1967-1971 and 1973). Their most important international success by far was winning the bronze medal at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. With a personal best of 64.34 m, she placed behind Faina Melnik (66.62 m), who started for the Soviet Union, and the Romanian Argentina Menis (65.06 m). She also finished eighth in the 1974 European Athletics Championships in Rome.
