Wasteland 3 is a post-apocalyptic computer role-playing game developed by inXile Entertainment . It is the successor to Wasteland 2 and is due to be released on August 28, 2020 for Windows , macOS , Linux , PlayStation 4 and Xbox One .
Gameplay
Wasteland 3 is a squad-based role-playing game with turn-based combat. The game offers both synchronous and asynchronous multiplayer.

Wasteland 3 is set in the icy wastelands of post-apocalyptic Colorado . The player takes control of the last surviving member of Team November, a ranger squad.
development
Wasteland 3 was announced by inXile Entertainment in September 2016. As with Wasteland 2, inXile started a crowdfunding campaign for the development costs of Wasteland 3 . After a few Kickstarter projects, inXile decided on Fig . The crowdfunding campaign started in October 2016 and closed a month later with over $ 3 million.
Wasteland 3 is developed with the Unity engine . The development team consists of people who worked on Torment: Tides of Numenera (2017).
The game was originally scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2019 for Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. After Microsoft took over the company, inXile hired more people to develop Wasteland 3 and postponed the release date to early 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the release was postponed again to August 2020.
