Wat Hua Lamphong
Wat Hua Lamphong ( Thai : วัด หัวลำโพง ) is a Buddhist temple complex ( Wat ) in the Bang Rak district ( Khwaeng Si Phraya - สี่พระยา ) in Bangkok . Wat Hua Lamphong is a Third Class Royal Temple .
Wat Hua Lamphong was originally called Wat Wua Lamphong, its name comes from a canal ( Khlong ) of the same name, which ran eight kilometers long from the southern part of the Khlong Padung Krung Kasem in an easterly direction. A beaten path called Wua Lamphong Road ran along the canal. Today Wua Lamphong Road has become one of the busiest streets in Bangkok: Rama IV Street (Thanon Phra Ram 4) .
Wat Hua Lamphong is located south of Rama IV Street next to Chula High Tech Square between the intersections with Phaya Thai and Si Phraya Streets . The Sam Yan stop on the Bangkok Metro is right in front of the temple entrance.
The ubosot of the temple, which stands on a one-story substructure, is remarkable . A large flight of stairs leads from the entrance of the temple directly into the sanctuary.
