Wat Tuek was founded during the Sukhothai Kingdom . From 1970 to 1971 the buildings were restored by the Fine Arts Department .
Attractions
There are these sights on the small temple grounds:
- The small Mondop with a side length of eight meters contains a seated Buddha statue made of bricks , which was once covered with stucco . The Mondop has three brick walls and a portal on the east side. The arrangement is similar to Wat Si Chum , but is much smaller. Stucco reliefs on the outside, which can still be seen in historical photos, showed scenes from the life of the Buddha ( Jataka ) . Today nothing is left of them.
- To the east of the Mondop are the remains of an assembly hall ( Wihan ) measuring 10 × 14 meters. Some laterite columns and a badly dilapidated Buddha statue made of laterite have been preserved. The Wihan is surrounded by several bases of small chedis .
