Wegekapelle Selm
The Wegekapelle at the corner of Südkirchener Strasse and Auf der Geist is a listed church building in Selm , in the Unna district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). The building is popularly known as the Kaldewey Chapel .
History and architecture
It is a neo-Gothic building made of yellow brick. It was built in 1900 over four sides of a hexagon. The front is opened by a pointed arch arcade. The gable is adorned with a tracery frieze and a three-part tracery panel made of sandstone. The figures of saints in it were renewed.
Inside, under a ribbed vault, there is a memorial to the fallen with a Pietà after Wilhelm Theodor Achtermann .
