The crucified savior

The wayside cross is a stone floor cross in the area of the Hessian city of Karben . It was built in worship of Jesus Christ on a small hill about one kilometer south of the village of Kloppenheim on the road connecting to Bad Vilbel . The cross, made in the classicism style, is dated to 1805 by an inscription in the base. The KRIY spouses are named as the founder.

The monument shows the Savior nailed to the cross on a solid base. The base, cross and body are made of red sandstone . The inscription is engraved on the face of the base:

PRAISE SEY JESUS CHRIST
DO NOT SCHEME YOURSELF
SIGN OF OUR LORD
JESUS CHRIST GOD FATHER
SON AND HOLY SPIRIT
ANNO 1805

Below the crucified one, an inscription indicates a renovation carried out by Heinrich Ruppel in 1890.
