architecture
It is an approx. 340 cm large crossroad made of Liedberg sandstone , which stands on a younger base plate made of basalt lava. On a base ending with a carnies cornice stands a high rectangular plinth, on the front of which the following inscription can be read in recessed capitals:
ANNO MDCCXI DEN 11 JVNIVS HAS GERHARD SEGERS BVRGERM (mostly) R VND AGNES CLOTH EHELEVTH ZV HONOR GOD'S AVFRICHTEN IMI
Below are two heraldic shields with the initials GS and AS.
The side surfaces of the base each show a raised stone surface in the form of a cushion with rounded corners. The base ends with a strong profile made of a strong round bead and ledges on both sides. They lead over a carnal profile to the base of the massive shaft of a Latin cross with an overlaid corpus as a half-relief. The cross bars end with applied round beads. The base of the cross shaft shows a low niche in the form of a cone , in front of which a semicircular shelf for the monstrance carried during processions protrudes. A small wrought iron railing is a more recent addition.
The object is important for human history and for cities and settlements. There is a public interest in its preservation and use for scientific, in particular artistic, local history and folklore reasons.
