According to its subtitle, Wehr und Wirtschaft was a monthly for economic issues in defense, aviation and industry , and briefly also had the title in English and French Defense and economics and Défense et économie . In fact, the periodical produced in the Federal Republic of Germany , which dealt in particular with the military of the Bundeswehr , was not published monthly, but quarterly. After initially changing location and publisher, Gross-Talmon in Munich published the paper under ISSN 0043-2113 .
Supplements from the armed forces and economy were Red Service , Green Service and Transport Management .

From 1933 to 1941 the magazine Wehr und Wirtschaft was published in Berlin initially by Balmung Verlag, then by Verkehrs- und Wirtschaftsverlag . The magazine Wehr und Wirtschaft in Munich , published by the German Society for Defense Technology eV, has been published by Bernard & Graefe since 1982 .
