Phantom 2040 is an American-French animated series loosely based on the comic of the same name . The series is about the 24th Phantom Kit Walker Jr. in the fictional city of Metropia.
action
The series is about Kit Walker, Jr., who, as an 18-year-old eco-engineer , plans to work in the jungle reserves of Brazil . But after the death of his father he follows in the footsteps of his ancestors and becomes the phantom who fights the forces of evil. He does this in the futuristic city of Metropia. The main villain is the fictional company Maximum Inc , which is pushing the Cyberville project . The Phantom is fighting for the preservation of biodiversity and against the growth of Cyberville .

The series was canceled in 1996 when the first and so far only feature film about the Phantom was released.
In Germany, the series ran on RTL II , ProSieben , Sat.1 and Kabel 1 . The series was dubbed by Deutsche Synchron . Ingo Albrecht spoke the main role of Kit Walker, Jr. or 24th Phantom.
Adaptations
Hearst Entertainment , the rights- owning company, pursued an energetic licensing campaign and licensed action figures, Halloween costumes, trading cards and other products. In 1995 Viacom New Media released a video game adaptation for the Sega Genesis , the Super NES and the Game Gear . The game received mostly positive reviews. In the same year, a board game adaptation of the series was released in Spain.
Trivia
- Sagan Cruz's dog is called DVL as an allusion to the classic name of the wolf that accompanied ancient incarnations of the phantom: Devil.
- Debbie Harry , the lead singer of the new wave band Blondie , spoke the role of Vaingloria in ten episodes of the series .
