The Wehrmacht SG Minden was a sports club from Minden . The first soccer team played for a year in the then first-class Gauliga Westfalen .

history

Nothing is known about the founding and the early years of the association, just as little is known whether the civil association Minden 05 was involved in the Wehrmacht SG. In 1943 the Mindener reached the final of the Westphalian qualification for the Tschammer Cup , the forerunner of today's DFB Cup . There the team lost against FC Schalke 04 clearly with 0: 6. A year later, the Mindener reached the promotion round to the then first-class Gauliga Westfalen. There the team was group winners due to the better goal quotient compared to SG 09/30 Wattenscheid and rose. In the following season, the Mindener were assigned to Group 3, which included KSG Bielefeld , a war syndicate made up of Arminia and VfB 03 . However, no result of the Minden team is known. At the end of the war, the club, for which the later national player Alfred Preißler played, was dissolved.
