The Peter Jakob Kühn winery is located in Oestrich-Winkel in the Rheingau-Taunus district of Hesse and produces Rieslings and Pinot Noir on 20 hectares of vineyards .

Approx. 100,000 bottles produced in spontaneous fermentation .

Grape varieties

  • 95% Riesling
  • 5% Pinot Noir

100% of the grapes are harvested by hand . 100% of the Riesling grapes are pressed slowly and gently.

Quality levels

The wines are divided into four levels according to the VDP classification:

  • VDP.Gutswein: Jacobus
  • VDP.Ortswein: Rheinschiefer Hallgarten Riesling, Quarzit Oestrich Riesling
  • VDP. First location: Hallgartener Hendelberg, Oestricher Klosterberg
  • VDP. Large location: Lenchen, Doosberg, Sankt Nikolaus

The range top form the so-called PJK.Unikate, country braiding and blackthorn , which was last reviewed with 97 Parker points.

Awards

Winemaker Peter Jakob Kühn was voted Germany's "Winemaker of the Year" 2016 in the Gault Millau Wine Guide. That same year he received the award of the Falstaff wine and gastronomy magazine for his "life's work" and the Titiel "Best Collection" in Falstaff Wine Guide 2016th
