Wine Route (Moselle)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wine Route is an ancient trade route from Mehring (Moselle) to Birkenfeld (Nahe) .

The district road 85 between Mehringer Berg and Neu-Mehring and the state road 148 between Bescheid (Hunsrück) and Beuren (Hochwald) are still referred to as the wine route on the topographic maps .

A source says: Opposite Mehring, at the jokingly named Kühstantinopel, the ancient wine route begins, climbs the 469 m high mountain (view) and runs on the plateau to Birkenfeld.
