World on Monday (Austria)

Die Welt am Montag was a Monday and sports newspaper founded in 1946 by the French occupying forces in Vienna . It acted as a complement to the world in the evening . The first edition appeared on February 18, 1946. On March 1, 1948, the newspaper was taken over by a publishing company related to the SPÖ . The newspaper went into the Neue Zeitung at the beginning of October 1967 . Richard Nimmerrichter, later known as "Staberl", worked here as editor-in-chief until 1963 .
