The World Osteoporosis Day (English world osteoporosis day ) is held annually on October 20 committed.

history

The day of action was first launched in 1996 by the British National Osteoporosis Society (NOS) on the initiative of Linda Edwards. The International Osteoporosis Foundation took up the idea the following year . She has organized the day annually since then. In 1998 the day of action was recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO). That year and the following, WHO also supported the usual annual campaign that follows the day of action.

Every year since 1999, the day has had its own motto, which indicates an aspect of the risk of developing osteoporosis or of recognizing or avoiding an illness.
