Wendelin Leweke

Wendelin Leweke (born January 21, 1927 in Frankfurt am Main ; † September 16, 1996 there ) was a German journalist and book author.

Life

Wendelin Leweke was born into a small family as the son of Adolf Leweke . In 1943 he did military service as an air force helper with the Heimatflak . In the last months of the war he was transferred to the Western Front. Between 1945 and 1949 he was a French prisoner of war.

Wendelin Leweke quickly made his Abitur after his return and studied philosophy, politics and German at the University of Frankfurt . During his studies in 1952 he started working for the Frankfurter Neue Presse, where he worked as a volunteer in 1954 and as a permanent journalist from 1955.
