Wennefer was an ancient Egyptian priest around 1250 BC. He was the high priest of Osiris under Ramses II in Abydos . He was one of the leading figures of his time and in office for about 35 years. Wennefer is known for a large number of monuments that underline its importance.

He came from a family whose members had held the office of high priest for several generations. His father Meri had been high priest of Osiris since the reign of Seti I.
