After the groundbreaking ceremony took place on November 7, 1955 , the foundation stone was laid on July 22, 1956 , on the 50th anniversary of the existence of the Talkirche . The first ringing of the bell dates from Christmas Eve 1956, but the premises could only be occupied towards the end of the following year. The first service in the Wenschtkirche, into which an organ was finally installed in 1960, took place on the 4th Advent in 1957. The day of the final handover of the keys was June 29, 1958. The total costs of the building, which doubled in the course of the construction process, contrary to the original plan, amounted to DM 508,204.62.
