Langenstück factory estate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Werksiedlung Langenstück is in between 1904 and 1913 for the Phoenix AG of Mining and Metallurgical Plant built housing estate in the town of Iserlohn .

It was placed under protection by the municipality as a monument area on August 26, 1988 in accordance with § 5 DSchG and entered in the list of architectural monuments under consecutive number 11 and as a monument area under consecutive number 1.

It was decisive for the protection status as a monument area that all buildings of the factory-bound workers' housing estate extend over several clearly structured streets and that the roof landscape is coordinated with the urban environment. The streets Schillerstraße, Niemöllerstraße and Goethestraße, which are staggered parallel on the slope, are connected by an undeveloped road.

Furthermore, almost all buildings, mostly semi-detached houses, have a simple cubature with plastic plaster facades and natural stone plinths as a special feature . The younger houses have ornamental framework and gable paneling. The objects include large gardens.

The following streets and buildings have belonged to the monument area since June 28, 2016:
