Workpiece carrier

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A workpiece carrier (often abbreviated to "WT") is a carrier on which one or more workpieces are attached in order to transport them from a workpiece conveyor along a production line through several production stations. If possible, the workpiece is processed directly on the workpiece carrier by robots or workers. There are simple workpiece carriers, which in principle only resemble a square plate and are driven by a belt or chain, through to workpiece carriers with their own drive and information systems on board. However, since large quantities of workpiece carriers are usually required, inexpensive variants are preferred and several workpieces are often attached to one workpiece carrier.
