Henrik Ohlmeyer (born February 11, 1946 in Bischofsgrün ) is a former German ski jumper .

Career

As a member of SC Bischofsgrün, he already took part in jumping from the Ochsenkopfschanze (critical point: 56 m) at the age of eleven. After a short time as a Nordic combined athlete , in which he finished second in the Bavarian youth championship, he returned at the age of 13 as a special jumper on hills outside his home town and in 1959 was the youngest participant to win the Franconian, Bavarian and German youth championship titles.

In 1964 Ohlmeyer jumped a hill record of 74 meters on the large Kreuzbergschanze ( Rhön ), which was not rated because the competition was abandoned . Afterwards he was again Bavarian youth champion on the small Kreuzbergschanze with 38.5 and 40 meters. The then national coach Ewald Roscher became aware of Ohlmeyer and brought him to courses. From 1964 he was a member of the German national team, but could not yet qualify for participation in the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck and Seefeld .

In 1965 Ohlmeyer won the International Ski Flying Week in Bad Mitterndorf (Kulm) with the greatest distance of 140 meters. This competition is to be equated with the ski flying world championship , which was introduced later .

At the 14th Four Hills Tournament in 1965/66 , after four jumps, he finished fifth in the overall standings, his best placement on the tour. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1966 , Ohlmeyer jumped from the large hill with jumps on 74.5 and 72 meters to 33rd place. He jumped from the normal hill to 73 and 71 meters and was 23rd.

In the following years he was often the best West German jumper at the Four Hills Tournament and achieved numerous top placements on Holmenkollen in Oslo , in Planica and on many other well-known ski jumping hills.

In 1968 he qualified for the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble , where he finished 33rd with the start number 15 with widths of 90.5 and 86.0 meters and a total of 177.9 points.

Henrik Ohlmeyer ended his active career as a ski jumper in 1971 at the age of 25 due to chronic damage to the knee joints that were not recognized and treated in time. Since 1979 he has been an employee in the technical center of the University of Bayreuth .
