The municipality of Werne-Land , also known as the Werne parish before World War I , was a municipality in the Lüdinghausen district in the province of Westphalia until 1922 . Today your area belongs to the city of Werne in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Unna .

The rural community of Werne encircled the city of Werne in the shape of a collar and had an area of ​​53 km². They included the farming communities Ehringshausen, Evenkamp, Holthausen, stooges, Lenklar, Ostick, Schmintrup and Varnhövel.

history

After the Napoleonic era , the area of ​​the community initially belonged to the mayor's office of Werne in the Lüdinghausen district founded in 1816. With the introduction of the Westphalian rural community order in 1843, the mayor's office of Werne became the Werne office , to which the rural communities of Capelle , Herbern , Stockum and Werne belonged. The city of Werne remained vacant.

On November 1, 1922, the rural community of Werne was incorporated into the city of Werne.
