Stockum is a district of the Westphalian city of Werne , district of Unna .

location
Stockum is in the east of the city of Werne. In the south, the lip forms the border.
structure
Stockum is divided into the main settlement core in the south of the former municipal area and the farming communities Horst and Wessel, which are north of it.

In 1974 Stockum bordered in a clockwise direction to the west with the city of Werne , the municipality of Herbern and the city of Bockum-Hövel (at that time all in the district of Lüdinghausen ) and the municipalities of Herringen and Sandbochum (both in the district of Unna ).
history
When the offices were set up in the Prussian province of Westphalia , Stockum belonged to the Werne office in the Lüdinghausen district together with the municipalities of Capelle and Parish Werne . The Werne office was dissolved on November 1, 1922. The rural community of Werne was merged with the city of Werne. Stockum came to the Herbern office , Capelle to the Nordkirchen office .
On January 1, 1975 Stockum was incorporated into the city of Werne and came with this into the Unna district.

The state road L 507 leads in the west to Werne and Selm , in the east to Bockum-Hövel, Hamm-Norden , Dolberg and Beckum . The state road L 518 , which crosses the north of Stockum near the Horst farmers, also leads to Werne and Bockum-Hövel. The state road L 844 brings the Stockumer in a north-westerly direction to Herbern , Ascheberg , Davensberg , Ottmarsbocholt , Senden and Appelhülsen . Then it goes on in the federal highway B 525 .
The K 4 district roads lead through Stockum to Sandbochum and Pelkum , K 5 to Walstedde and K 12 to Werne, Bockum-Hövel and Heessen .
Transportation
The express bus line S 10 and the regional line R 14 of the transport company Kreis Unna travel from Hamm on different routes via Hövel and Bockum through Stockum to Werne and Lünen.
