Werner Dittrich (race theorist)

Werner Dittrich (* 18th April 1906 in Leipzig , † unknown) was a German teacher and racial theorists in the era of National Socialism .

Dittrich studied biology, geography and chemistry in Leipzig for the state examination for teachers. In 1930 he received his doctorate and became a study assistant at the Petrischule Leipzig . In April 1933 he joined the NSDAP and in 1934 the Nazi teachers' association . With Erich Meyer he taught at the Higher Israelite School in Leipzig in 1933/34 , where they founded a cell of the NSLB. In 1935 he wrote the teacher's manual “Heredity and Race”, and in 1937 he organized the exhibition “The Racial Thought in Schools”. He rose from the Leipzig district to become deputy. Reich clerk for race issues in the main office for educators in Bayreuth (under Karl Zimmermann ) as well as Reich clerk in the NSLB. He also edited the magazine " Der Biologe ", which was taken over in 1939 by the SS-Ahnenerbe . In 1940 he wrote:

"Fertility is the sharpest weapon in the struggle for existence ... We therefore have to stick to our previous line in demographic education lessons, namely to hammer the more mature young people into the fact that they must be the ancestors of as many valuable children as possible."
