Werner Fröhling (born April 27, 1907 in Allmannshofen , † after 1943) was a German political functionary of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP).

Life

After attending school, Fröhling studied history and German, but then switched to political science.

In the early 1930s, Fröhling joined the Nazi movement. Around 1932 he joined the Sturmabteilung (SA). However, he only became a member of the NSDAP after 1933 ( membership number 2,936,976).

In 1933 Fröhling became the deputy district economic advisor in the district of Westphalia-Nord and also worked as a volunteer for the Reich trustee for Westphalia. In 1934 he was hired by this department, initially as a scientific assistant, then as a permanent representative for the Westphalia economic area. In 1938 he took on the same task for Silesia .

At the beginning of 1939 Fröhling moved to the staff of the Deputy Leader (SSdF), the central control center led by Rudolf Heß for the supervision and control of the party apparatus of the NSDAP. In this he reached the rank of Ministerial Councilor .

In 1943, Fröhling succeeded Hans Bärmann as head of Group III B in the party office of the NSDAP, under which the SSdF now operated. This was responsible for all questions of the economy, the transport, the labor and the food ministries. In this position, Fröhling was a close colleague of Martin Bormann .

In the SS, to which he changed from the SA in 1939 (SS No. 310.144), Fröhling achieved at least the rank of SS Sturmbannführer (April 20, 1943).
