Werner Grünzweig

Werner Grünzweig (* 1959 in Graz ) is an Austrian musicologist and archivist .

Life

Grünzweig initially studied piano at the Graz University of Music , and since 1984 musicology and American studies at the Free University of Berlin . He graduated with an MA in 1989. In 1995 he was with the work "idea and knowledge, spirit and form: Alban Berg as a music writer and analyst of the music of Arnold Schoenberg's" (published in 2000 in the Universal Edition Wien) PhD . Grünzweig has been head of the music archive at the Berlin Academy of the Arts since 1994 .
