Werner Kamenz (born September 14, 1960 ) is a former German football player who was active in 1983 for Chemie Böhlen in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

In 1982/83, Werner Kamenz first appeared in the junior league for the company sports association (BSG) Chemie Böhlen in the GDR-wide soccer game . Only towards the end of the season did coach Heinz Joerk give the 23-year-old midfielder the opportunity to play two league games in the first team. After the first team was relegated from the league in the summer of 1983, Kamenz was officially included in the first team of the BSG Chemie for the GDR league season 1983/84. There he was used in nine league games, but was then drafted into military service in the National People's Army in May 1984 . After his dismissal, Kamenz returned to Chemie Böhlen in November 1985 and played six more games in the GDR league by June 1986. In the 1986/87 and 1987/88 seasons he was used in only one or thirteen league games. It was not until the 1988/89 season that Kamenz succeeded in establishing himself as a regular player with 26 appearances in 34 games played in the GDR league. He also scored his first goal in league operations. Also in 1989/90 he kept his regular place, but retired after 22 point games and three goals during the current season from the team of Chemie Böhlen. Since he did not return to higher-class football, his record there shows only two league games without scoring and 77 GDR league games with four goals.
