Werner Leiß

Werner Leiß (born April 1, 1942 in Munich ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Leiß reached secondary school leaving certificate and then held various administrative positions as an employee in the public service, most recently at the German Patent Office . He was the youth secretary of the trade union [[Trade Union of Public Services, Transport and Traffic <ÖTV]], organization secretary and head of the legal department.

In 1966 Leiß became a member of the SPD, where he was chairman of the local association, chairman of the district committee of the 19th district in Munich and member of the district assembly of Upper Bavaria . There he was active in the social, personnel and health committee and in the Association of Bavarian Districts. He was also a board member of the Federal Implementing Authority for Accident Insurance. From 1982 to 1986 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament, directly elected in the district of Munich-Altstadt .
